History and development

From a Nepal emergency-coordination idea in 2020 to a growing international donor network.

    Mission started

    Nepali Blood Donors began with a simple vision: to make blood donor coordination faster, easier, and more reliable during emergencies.

  2. June 2021

    First digital release

    The first version of the Nepali Blood Donors platform was launched, enabling basic donor search and emergency blood request coordination.

  3. 2022

    Community and volunteer growth

    The network expanded through volunteers, improving response time, donor engagement, and awareness activities across different regions.

  4. 2023

    Platform and feature expansion

    New ideas and features were introduced including ambulance support, blood bank listings, event coordination, and improved donor tracking.

  5. 2024

    System improvement & scaling

    Focus shifted towards improving system reliability, user experience, and preparing the platform for larger-scale coordination.

  6. 2025

    Lamjung branch established

    The Lamjung Blood Donors branch strengthened regional coordination, making local blood support faster and more organized.

  7. 2026

    International expansion – Bangladesh

    Blood Bangladesh was launched as an international extension, expanding the mission beyond Nepal and supporting nationwide donor coordination in Bangladesh.

  8. Upcoming

    Future expansion – South Sudan

    Plans are underway to expand into South Sudan, continuing the vision of building a global blood donor support network.

Location ranks nearby donors. Numbers are for a specific request through in-app contact. We do not sell personal data. Read the Privacy Policy.

Yes. One profile can stay listed as a voluntary donor and still post a request for a patient, relative, or yourself.

The request is matched by blood group and proximity. Eligible donors get an alert with hospital details. You can also chat inside the app. Keep 102 as backup.

Whole-blood donation is commonly allowed every 90 days when you pass Nepal Red Cross screening. Use the next donation calculator and eligibility checklist. These are reminders, not a medical waiver.

Not yet. The Nepali Blood Donors Mobile App is on Google Play. An iPhone version is planned. iPhone users can still register or request blood on this website.
